We booked into a traditional style Japanese room, complete with futons (sleeping on the floor), tatami mats, Japanese bathroom (including extra deep tub) and no chairs! Once we got used to it, we enjoyed the experience. Located in a great postion - easy to get around Tokyo via train or subway and lots of great local eating places around there.

Accommodation was spacious and rare, beds were very clean. It offered a traditional continental breakfast even for vegetarians. The room was great value for money, there was an absolutely lovely bathroom.

Hotel room was perfect for 3 friends travelling around and staying at Edoya for a few nights, plenty of room, living area, table, sofa and separate room for sleeping. Very near lots of metro lines and good restaurants... Staff also great. Highly recommended.
Hot Bath not the most appealing.

En suite functional room with view over street. Terrace, coffee and a couch in the room. Location short walk to multiple train stations, sights and stations, and the hike up the hill to get to the inn.

ryokan style-tatami floor-no shoes, futon beds. however the futon was the softest thing i slept on the 9 days and 6 hotels i stayed at in Japan.
breakfast was free, but get there early as it closes at 9am at we got there at 830 and they put out no more food at that point leaving us with rice only for breakfast (no juice, coffee, or anything else left).

Location it was a good price.
The air-conditioning was not working well. Water pressure was poor. Breakfest was poor. Refrigerator turned off by itself, so our food spoiled.

Charm objectified
The spacious Japanese-style room was a good retreat with tatami mats and a comfy futon. The rooftop baths offered relaxation after a busy day. Plus, the location near Yushima subway station made exploring easy. A lovely experience improved with friendly staff and a delicious traditional breakfast.
